New Zealand, Oman, Yemen, Germany, Bahrain, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Brazil, Kenya and South Africa lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 46%.

Imports into the UK
In 2021, overseas purchases of steam turbines and other vapor turbines increased by 15% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a pronounced decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 900%. Imports peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, steam turbine imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a perceptible descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 535%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
The Czech Republic (X units), India (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of steam turbine imports to the UK, with a combined 92% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Norway, the United States and China, which together accounted for a further 7.8%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Norway (with a CAGR of +32.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, the largest steam turbine suppliers to the UK were Germany ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and India ($X), with a combined 94% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Norway, the United States and China, which together accounted for a further 3.1%.
Norway, with a CAGR of +33.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2021, the average steam turbine import price amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 168% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average import price increased by 406% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
