The Netherlands (X units), Ireland (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main destinations of transporter and bridge cranes exports from the UK, with a combined 57% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the United States, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Lithuania, France, Russia, Norway and Oman, which together accounted for a further 35%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Kazakhstan (with a CAGR of +173.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United States ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the largest markets for transporter and bridge cranes exported from the UK worldwide, together comprising 62% of total exports. These countries were followed by Ireland, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Russia, France, Thailand, Norway, Lithuania and Oman, which together accounted for a further 26%.
Kazakhstan, with a CAGR of +185.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average transporter and bridge cranes export price amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -4.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a noticeable curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 48%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+11.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the UK
In 2021, supplies from abroad of transporter cranes, gantry cranes and bridge cranes increased by 39% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after four years of decline. Over the period under review, imports saw a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 679%. Imports peaked at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, transporter and bridge cranes imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 341%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest transporter and bridge cranes supplier to the UK, accounting for a 76% share of total imports. Moreover, transporter and bridge cranes imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Japan (X units), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by the United States (X units), with a 3% share.
