The Czech Republic (X tons), Denmark (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of wood pellets exports from the UK, with a combined 55% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +734.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X), Italy ($X) and Denmark ($X) constituted the largest markets for wood pellets exported from the UK worldwide, with a combined 53% share of total exports.

Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, wood pellets imports reduced to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 122%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

In 2022, the United States (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of wood pellets to the UK, accounting for a 66% share of total imports. Moreover, wood pellets imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Canada (X tons), fivefold. Latvia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from the United States amounted to +26.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Canada (+1.5% per year) and Latvia (+26.2% per year).
