The United States (X tons), Kenya (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of honey exports from Tanzania, with a combined 50% share of total exports.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Uganda ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ireland (+20.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Tanzania
Honey imports into Tanzania contracted notably to X tons in 2022, shrinking by -75.2% compared with the year before. Overall, imports, however, recorded a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 346%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, honey imports reduced notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 437%. The UK (X tons), Australia (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons) were the main suppliers of honey imports to Tanzania, with a combined 57% share of total imports. Romania, Spain, China and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 39%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Turkey (with a CAGR of +58.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
