Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, lemon and lime imports stood at $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 39%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, Mexico (X tons) constituted the largest lemon and lime supplier to the United States, with a 82% share of total imports. Moreover, lemon and lime imports from Mexico exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Argentina (X tons), more than tenfold. In value terms, Mexico ($X) constituted the largest supplier of lemons and limes to the United States, comprising 82% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Colombia ($X), with a 6.3% share of total imports. It was followed by Argentina, with a 5.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Mexico amounted to +12.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Colombia (+62.5% per year) and Argentina (+41.7% per year).

The average lemon and lime import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 21% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +8.2% over the last decade.
