Papaya Market Size in the U.S.

The U.S. papaya market expanded significantly to $X in 2022, growing by 8.5% against the previous year. The market value increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. Papaya consumption peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Papaya Production in the U.S.

In value terms, papaya production shrank to $X in 2022. In general, production showed a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the production volume increased by 25%. Canada (X tons) was the main destination for papaya exports from the United States, accounting for a 94% share of total exports. Moreover, papaya exports to Canada exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Hong Kong SAR (X tons), more than tenfold.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when imports increased by 17% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
