The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The United States (X tons) was the main destination for ceramic statuette exports from Uruguay, with a 54% share of total exports. Moreover, ceramic statuette exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Australia (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Singapore (X tons), with a 13% share.

In 2022, purchases abroad of ceramic statuettes and other ornamental articles increased by 0.3% to X tons, rising for the third year in a row after two years of decline. In general, imports, however, saw a mild downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 53% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, ceramic statuette imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 67%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of ceramic statuette to Uruguay, with a 59% share of total imports. Moreover, ceramic statuette imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Vietnam (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Morocco (X tons), with a 5.9% share.
