Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X litres in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, cider, perry and mead imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed a mild increase. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X litres), Argentina (X litres) and Panama (X litres) were the main suppliers of cider, perry and mead imports to Uruguay, with a combined 45% share of total imports. The United States, Brazil and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.
