The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 180% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, canned mushroom imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 323% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest canned mushroom supplier to Uzbekistan, with a 62% share of total imports. Moreover, canned mushroom imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X tons), threefold. Russia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7% share.

From 2017 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to +3.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (0.0% per year) and Russia (+84.0% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of canned mushrooms to Uzbekistan, comprising 51% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Italy ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with a 15% share.

From 2017 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China totaled +15.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+74.1% per year) and Poland (0.0% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the average canned mushroom import price amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -11.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 71% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then reduced in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while the price for Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+103.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
