In value terms, exports of cellular plates, sheets and films of polyymers of styrene soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 9,374%. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Kyrgyzstan (X tons) was the main destination for exports of cellular plates, sheets and films of polyymers of styrene from Uzbekistan, accounting for a 58% share of total exports. In 2022, overseas purchases of cellular plates, sheets and films of polyymers of styrene were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 149%. Imports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Russia (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of polystyrene cellular plates, sheets and films to Uzbekistan, with a 77% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of cellular plates, sheets and films of polyymers of styrene from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X tons), eightfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Kazakhstan (X tons), with a 7% share.
From 2017 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Russia totaled +69.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+55.3% per year) and Kazakhstan (-16.6% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of cellular plates, sheets and films of polyymers of styrene to Uzbekistan, comprising 78% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with a 3.8% share.
From 2017 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Russia totaled +54.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+58.9% per year) and China (-31.8% per year).
