The United States (X tons) was the main destination for cheese exports from Uzbekistan, accounting for a 83% share of total exports. Moreover, cheese exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kazakhstan (X kg), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Afghanistan (X kg), with a 4.6% share.

In value terms, the United States ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for cheese exports from Uzbekistan, comprising 80% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with an 8.7% share of total exports. It was followed by Afghanistan, with a 5.1% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to the United States was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (0.0% per year) and Afghanistan (-37.0% per year).

The average cheese export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, waning by -4.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a mild reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 7%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Tajikistan ($X per ton) and Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($X per ton) and Afghanistan ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Tajikistan (+74.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Uzbekistan
In 2021, the amount of cheese imported into Uzbekistan expanded to X tons, surging by 3.7% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, imports recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 70% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, cheese imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 87%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In 2021, Russia (X tons) constituted the largest cheese supplier to Uzbekistan, accounting for a 56% share of total imports. Moreover, cheese imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Belarus (X tons), threefold. From 2017 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Russia totaled +55.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (+112.2% per year) and Lithuania (+24.6% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average cheese import price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 77% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a strong increase. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($X per ton), while the price for Lithuania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2017 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Finland (+40.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
