The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -15.2% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 26% against the previous year. In general, total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2017 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +15.8% over the last five-year period. Kazakhstan (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Kyrgyzstan (X tons) were the main destinations of chili and pepper exports from Uzbekistan, together comprising 94% of total exports. These countries were followed by Tajikistan, which accounted for a further 5.5%.
