Turkmenistan (X tons), Tajikistan (X kg) and Kyrgyzstan (X kg) were the main destinations of coffee extract exports from Uzbekistan, with a combined 98% share of total exports.

The average coffee extract export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a sharp downturn. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2017 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (-12.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Uzbekistan
After four years of growth, purchases abroad of coffee extracts, essences and concentrates decreased by -9.8% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 59%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, coffee extract imports rose rapidly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 86%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Russia (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of coffee extract to Uzbekistan, accounting for a 49% share of total imports. Moreover, coffee extract imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Malaysia (X tons), twofold. India (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 3.7% share.
From 2017 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Russia stood at +40.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Malaysia (+8.6% per year) and India (+7.7% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of coffee extracts, essences and concentrates to Uzbekistan, comprising 54% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Malaysia ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by India, with a 1.8% share.
From 2017 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Russia amounted to +26.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Malaysia (+14.1% per year) and India (+4.4% per year).

The average coffee extract import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 26% against the previous year. Over the period from 2017 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.8%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
