Kazakhstan (X tons) was the main destination for construction sands exports from Uzbekistan, with a 95% share of total exports. Moreover, construction sands exports to Kazakhstan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Turkey (X tons), more than tenfold.

From 2017 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Kazakhstan amounted to +338.7%.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for construction sands exports from Uzbekistan, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 23% share of total exports.

From 2017 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Turkey was relatively modest.

In 2022, the average construction sands export price amounted to $X per ton, falling by -24.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 97%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan amounted to $X per ton.

From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kyrgyzstan (+14,602.0%).

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of construction sands, when their volume increased by 278% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a deep slump. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, construction sands imports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, faced a precipitous decline. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of construction sands to Uzbekistan, accounting for a 36% share of total imports. Moreover, construction sands imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X tons), threefold.
