For the third consecutive year, the Uzbek chicken egg market recorded decline in sales value, which decreased by -49.8% to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, consumption showed a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the market failed to regain momentum.

For the fourth consecutive year, Uzbekistan recorded growth in overseas shipments of chicken eggs, which increased by 11% to X tons in 2022. In general, exports posted a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 66%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, chicken egg exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded slight growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 93% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Tajikistan (X tons) was the main destination for chicken egg exports from Uzbekistan, with a 95% share of total exports. Moreover, chicken egg exports to Tajikistan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kazakhstan (X tons), more than tenfold.

From 2017 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Tajikistan totaled +67.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (+199.6% per year) and Afghanistan (-51.5% per year).

Kazakhstan, with a CAGR of +187.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average chicken egg export price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 19% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, faced a deep downturn. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Chicken egg imports into Uzbekistan shrank remarkably to X tons in 2022, falling by -83.1% on the previous year's figure. In general, imports faced a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 236%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.
