Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a deep setback. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, peanut butter exports surged to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep reduction. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Russia (X tons) was the main destination for peanut butter exports from Uzbekistan, with a 49% share of total exports. Moreover, peanut butter exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Belarus (X tons), twofold. Ukraine (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 13% share.

From 2017 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Russia stood at +84.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+33.4% per year) and Ukraine (+84.4% per year).

In value terms, Russia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for peanut butter and prepared or preserved groundnuts exports from Uzbekistan, comprising 56% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 21% share of total exports. It was followed by Kazakhstan, with a 6.8% share.

From 2017 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Russia amounted to +93.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+32.5% per year) and Kazakhstan (-44.9% per year).

The average peanut butter export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 20% against the previous year. Imports into Uzbekistan

For the fourth consecutive year, Uzbekistan recorded growth in supplies from abroad of peanut butter and prepared or preserved groundnuts, which increased by 137% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 215%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, peanut butter imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 228% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Russia (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of peanut butter to Uzbekistan, accounting for a 76% share of total imports. Moreover, peanut butter imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Ukraine (X tons), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Kazakhstan (X tons), with an 8.3% share.

From 2017 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Russia stood at +193.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kazakhstan (+602.4% per year) and Ukraine (+54.1% per year).

In 2022, the average peanut butter import price amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -6.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a slight slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 12% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
