As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, dry peas exports fell sharply to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw a sharp downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 1,084%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted notably in the following year.

Exports by Country

Greece (X tons) was the main destination for dry peas exports from Uzbekistan, with a 63% share of total exports. Moreover, dry peas exports to Greece exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kyrgyzstan (X tons), ninefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Austria (X tons), with a 6.3% share.

Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, dry peas imports declined to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2017 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 12% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. In 2021, Kazakhstan (X tons) constituted the largest dry peas supplier to Uzbekistan, with a 81% share of total imports. Moreover, dry peas imports from Kazakhstan exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Russia (X tons), fourfold.
