The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 209% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, pimenta pepper exports reduced notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 588% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Kazakhstan (X tons) was the main destination for pimenta pepper exports from Uzbekistan, accounting for a 69% share of total exports. Moreover, pimenta pepper exports to Kazakhstan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kyrgyzstan (X tons), sixfold. Russia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 8.1% share.

The average pimenta pepper export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -34.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the average export price increased by 123%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, the amount of pimenta pepper imported into Uzbekistan surged to X tons, increasing by 247% on 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a significant increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, pimenta pepper imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 121%.
