Safety Glass Market Size in Uzbekistan

The Uzbek safety glass market reduced modestly to $X in 2022, which is down by -2.1% against the previous year. In 2022, exports of safety glass from Uzbekistan skyrocketed to X square meters, picking up by 601% against 2021. In general, exports recorded a significant increase. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, safety glass exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 354% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Kazakhstan (X square meters) was the main destination for safety glass exports from Uzbekistan, with a 423% share of total exports. Moreover, safety glass exports to Kazakhstan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kyrgyzstan (X square meters), eightfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Tajikistan (X square meters), with a 34% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Kazakhstan stood at +20.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kyrgyzstan (+106.7% per year) and Tajikistan (+38.2% per year).

In value terms, the largest markets for safety glass exported from Uzbekistan were Tajikistan ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Kyrgyzstan ($X), together accounting for 72% of total exports.

Imports into Uzbekistan

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of safety glass, when their volume decreased by -12% to X square meters. Overall, imports, however, posted a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 435%. Imports peaked at X square meters in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, safety glass imports reached $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 221%. Imports peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Turkey (X square meters), China (X square meters) and Iran (X square meters) were the main suppliers of safety glass imports to Uzbekistan, with a combined 67% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Lithuania, South Korea, Russia and the United Arab Emirates, which together accounted for a further 23%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Lithuania (with a CAGR of +148.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2019 to 2021, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per square meter), while the price for Lithuania ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
