Exports from Uzbekistan
In 2022, the amount of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages exported from Uzbekistan contracted to X litres, dropping by -14.6% against 2021. In general, exports saw a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 262% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X litres. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, exports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 264% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Mongolia (X litres), Russia (X litres) and Turkey (X litres) were the main destinations of exports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages from Uzbekistan, with a combined 82% share of total exports.
From 2017 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Mongolia (with a CAGR of +1,066.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Mongolia ($X), Russia ($X) and Turkey ($X) were the largest markets for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages exported from Uzbekistan worldwide, together accounting for 82% of total exports.
Among the main countries of destination, Mongolia, with a CAGR of +577.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country

Over the last five-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 12% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Russia ($X per litre) and India ($X per litre), while the average price for exports to the United States ($X per litre) and South Korea ($X per litre) were amongst the lowest.
From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+13.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Spirits, Liqueurs And Other Spirituous Beverages
Imports into Uzbekistan
In 2022, approx. X litres of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages were imported into Uzbekistan; which is down by -23.1% against the year before. Overall, imports, however, showed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 85%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X litres, and then fell significantly in the following year.
In value terms, imports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages rose remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, posted significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 96% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Russia (X litres) constituted the largest spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages supplier to Uzbekistan, with a 48% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Mexico (X litres), sixfold. Sweden (X litres) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6.8% share.
From 2017 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Russia amounted to +12.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Mexico (0.0% per year) and Sweden (0.0% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages to Uzbekistan, comprising 42% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Mexico, with an 8.9% share.
From 2017 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Russia amounted to +28.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (+150.9% per year) and Mexico (0.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average import price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages amounted to $X per litre, surging by 38% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a resilient expansion from 2017 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% over the last five years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages increased by +47.7% against 2018 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per litre), while the price for Russia ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+27.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
