Glass Fiber Market Size in Uzbekistan
The Uzbek glass fiber market dropped to $X in 2021, which is down by -8.7% against the previous year. In general, consumption continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the market failed to regain momentum.

Exports from Uzbekistan
In 2021, shipments abroad of voiles, webs, mats and other articles of glass fibers increased by 40% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, total exports indicated a strong increase from 2017 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +16.1% over the last four years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 92%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, glass fiber exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, total exports indicated a prominent increase from 2017 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.7% over the last four-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 72% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
Kazakhstan (X tons) was the main destination for glass fiber exports from Uzbekistan, accounting for a 65% share of total exports. Moreover, glass fiber exports to Kazakhstan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kyrgyzstan (X tons), twofold.
From 2017 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Kazakhstan totaled +24.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kyrgyzstan (+25.8% per year) and Tajikistan (-15.1% per year).
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X) remains the key foreign market for voiles, webs, mats and other articles of glass fibers exports from Uzbekistan, comprising 63% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kyrgyzstan ($X), with a 27% share of total exports.
From 2017 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Kazakhstan amounted to +28.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kyrgyzstan (+26.7% per year) and Tajikistan (-14.8% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average glass fiber export price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 13% against the previous year. Over the last four-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2017 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Uzbekistan
After four years of growth, purchases abroad of voiles, webs, mats and other articles of glass fibers decreased by -30.4% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 80%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then shrank notably in the following year.
In value terms, glass fiber imports dropped remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 56%. Imports peaked at $X in 2020, and then declined remarkably in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Russia (X tons) constituted the largest glass fiber supplier to Uzbekistan, with a 57% share of total imports. Moreover, glass fiber imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Thailand (X tons), twofold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.
From 2017 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Russia amounted to +20.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Thailand (+49.6% per year) and China (-1.2% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of voiles, webs, mats and other articles of glass fibers to Uzbekistan, comprising 61% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a 20% share of total imports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 9% share.
From 2017 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Russia stood at +28.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+12.2% per year) and Thailand (+30.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average glass fiber import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, shrinking by -6.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 6.2% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the price for Thailand ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2017 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+13.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
