The third position in this ranking was held by the United States (X units), with a 4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Colombia amounted to -7.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Dominican Republic (-24.7% per year) and the United States (-12.9% per year).

In value terms, Colombia ($X) remains the key foreign market for cargo trailers and semi-trailers exports from Venezuela, comprising 96% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Saint Vincent and the Grenadines ($X), with a 2.6% share of total exports. It was followed by the Dominican Republic, with a 1.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Colombia amounted to -3.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (-19.1% per year) and the Dominican Republic (-29.9% per year).

The average trailer and semi-trailer export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, with a decrease of -13.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 249% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Costa Rica ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (+14.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Venezuela

Trailer and semi-trailer imports into Venezuela rose notably to X units in 2022, with an increase of 12% against 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 162% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, trailer and semi-trailer imports reduced to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 127%. Italy (X units), China (X units) and Mexico (X units) were the main suppliers of trailer and semi-trailer imports to Venezuela, together accounting for 75% of total imports.
