Waterproof Footwear Market Size in Venezuela

In 2022, the Venezuelan waterproof footwear market increased by 33% to $X for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, consumption, however, saw a sharp reduction. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

After six years of decline, shipments abroad of waterproof footwear increased by 19% to X pairs in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a deep downturn. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, waterproof footwear exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a precipitous curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 266%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. Aruba (X pairs) was the main destination for waterproof footwear exports from Venezuela, accounting for a 70% share of total exports. Moreover, waterproof footwear exports to Aruba exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United States (X pairs), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Colombia (X pairs), with a 6.3% share.

In 2022, the average waterproof footwear export price amounted to $X per pair, surging by 36% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 92%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per pair. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 73%. Imports peaked at X pairs in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, waterproof footwear imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 102% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

China (X pairs), Panama (X pairs) and Colombia (X pairs) were the main suppliers of waterproof footwear imports to Venezuela, with a combined 68% share of total imports. Indonesia, the United States, Argentina, Hong Kong SAR and Ecuador lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 25%.
