In value terms, accordion production rose rapidly to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. The exports peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, accordion exports declined notably to $X in 2021. Overall, exports continue to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 28% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The United States (X units) was the main destination for accordion exports from Vietnam, with a 51% share of total exports. Moreover, accordion exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Brazil (X units), fourfold. In 2021, purchases abroad of accordions and mouth organs decreased by -4.3% to X units, falling for the third consecutive year after four years of growth. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 232%. Imports peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, accordion imports totaled $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 187%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Japan (X units), Indonesia (X units) and China (X units) were the main suppliers of accordion imports to Vietnam, together comprising 21% of total imports. South Korea, Taiwan (Chinese), Germany, France, the United States, the UK, the Czech Republic, Singapore and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 17%.
