Artichoke Market Size in Vietnam

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the Vietnamese artichoke market, when its value decreased by -49.4% to $X. Overall, consumption, however, saw strong growth. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X, and then fell markedly in the following year.

The average artichoke export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -14.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 55%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada stood at $X per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+27.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the amount of artichokes imported into Vietnam expanded rapidly to X tons, with an increase of 12% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, imports saw a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 510%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, artichoke imports dropped dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 433% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Australia.
