In 2021, overseas purchases of candles and tapers decreased by -36.6% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 74% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of candles and tapers to Vietnam, with a 71% share of total imports.
