Ceramic Tile Market Size in Vietnam
The Vietnamese ceramic tile market reached $X in 2022, with an increase of 1.8% against the previous year. The market value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Over the period under review, the market reached the peak level at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, ceramic tile production expanded slightly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. The total output value increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production reached the maximum level at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.

Exports from Vietnam
In 2022, the amount of ceramic tiles exported from Vietnam reduced to X square meters, approximately reflecting 2021. Overall, total exports indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -4.4% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 47%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X square meters. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, ceramic tile exports expanded modestly to $X in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a mild slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 11%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
The Philippines (X square meters), Thailand (X square meters) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X square meters) were the main destinations of ceramic tile exports from Vietnam, together accounting for 44% of total exports. These countries were followed by South Korea, the United States, Japan, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia and Indonesia, which together accounted for a further 45%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the United States (with a CAGR of +59.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the Philippines ($X), the United States ($X) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for ceramic tile exported from Vietnam worldwide, together accounting for 46% of total exports.
The United States, with a CAGR of +67.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average ceramic tile export price amounted to $X per square meter, growing by 4.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 29%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per square meter. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per square meter), while the average price for exports to Lao People's Democratic Republic ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Vietnam
In 2022, approx. X square meters of ceramic tiles were imported into Vietnam; dropping by -7.3% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +8.5% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X square meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, ceramic tile imports fell to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +6.2% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 27% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X square meters) constituted the largest ceramic tile supplier to Vietnam, with a 88% share of total imports. Moreover, ceramic tile imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X square meters), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Malaysia (X square meters), with a 1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to +5.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (+61.9% per year) and Malaysia (+5.3% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of ceramic tiles to Vietnam, comprising 85% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by India ($X), with a 7% share of total imports. It was followed by Spain, with a 2% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China amounted to +5.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (+47.9% per year) and Spain (+2.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average ceramic tile import price stood at $X per square meter in 2022, surging by 1.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 7.3% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per square meter in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per square meter), while the price for India ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
