Cambodia (X tons), Hong Kong SAR (X tons) and Canada (X tons) were the main destinations of concrete reinforcing bar exports from Vietnam, together accounting for 96% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Canada (with a CAGR of +38.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for concrete reinforcing bar exported from Vietnam were Hong Kong SAR ($X), Cambodia ($X) and Canada ($X), together comprising 96% of total exports.

Canada, with a CAGR of +46.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Canada ($X per ton) and Hong Kong SAR ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Cambodia ($X per ton) and Singapore ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+8.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Vietnam

In 2022, approx. X tons of concrete reinforcing bars were imported into Vietnam; with an increase of 14% against 2021. In general, imports posted strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 144% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, concrete reinforcing bar imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 153%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
