Domestic Toaster Market Size in Vietnam

The Vietnamese domestic toaster market expanded notably to $X in 2022, picking up by 7.4% against the previous year. Domestic toaster exports from Vietnam stood at X units in 2022, picking up by 2.8% compared with the year before. Overall, exports enjoyed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 3,923% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, domestic toaster exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 6,373% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Japan (X units) was the main destination for domestic toaster exports from Vietnam, with a 95% share of total exports. Moreover, domestic toaster exports to Japan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Angola (X units), more than tenfold.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Japan stood at +26.6%.

In value terms, Japan ($X) remains the key foreign market for domestic electric toasters exports from Vietnam, comprising 96% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Angola ($X), with a 2.9% share of total exports.

In 2022, the average domestic toaster export price amounted to $X per unit, growing by 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, domestic toaster export price decreased by -20.6% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 61%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Angola amounted to $X per unit.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+4.3%).

Imports into Vietnam

After three years of decline, purchases abroad of domestic electric toasters increased by 17% to X units in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 394% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, domestic toaster imports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 359% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of domestic toaster to Vietnam, with a 73% share of total imports. Moreover, domestic toaster imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Malaysia (X units), sevenfold. Italy (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 4.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +20.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Malaysia (+18.8% per year) and Italy (+10.0% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of domestic electric toasters to Vietnam, comprising 73% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Malaysia ($X), with a 9.5% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a 4.6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from China amounted to +22.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Malaysia (+19.6% per year) and Italy (+10.6% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average domestic toaster import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -3.3% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 21%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2021, and then declined slightly in the following year.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from the United States ($X per unit) and the UK ($X per unit), while the price for Italy ($X per unit) and France ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
