Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, ferro-alloys exports shrank markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Japan (X tons) was the main destination for ferro-alloys exports from Vietnam, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, ferro-alloys exports to Japan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, South Korea (X tons), sevenfold. Pakistan (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Japan totaled X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: South Korea (X% per year) and Pakistan (X% per year).

The average ferro-alloys export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a mild reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to South Korea ($X per ton) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Pakistan ($X per ton) and Japan ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of ferro-alloys decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by X%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, ferro-alloys imports shrank significantly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Malaysia (X tons), China (X tons) and India (X tons) were the main suppliers of ferro-alloys imports to Vietnam, with a combined X% share of total imports.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while the price for India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
