Singapore (X tons) was the main destination for tall oil fatty acids exports from Vietnam, accounting for a approx. 100% share of total exports.

In 2021, the average tall oil fatty acids export price amounted to $X per ton, approximately reflecting the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 108%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Singapore.

Tall oil fatty acids imports into Vietnam skyrocketed to X tons in 2021, picking up by 44% on 2020. Over the period under review, imports recorded a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 151% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, tall oil fatty acids imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports posted a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 230%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
Japan (X tons), Singapore (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main suppliers of tall oil fatty acids imports to Vietnam, together accounting for 85% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Japan (with a CAGR of +101.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Japan ($X), Singapore ($X) and the United States ($X) were the largest tall oil fatty acids suppliers to Vietnam, with a combined 87% share of total imports.
In terms of the main suppliers, Japan, with a CAGR of +102.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average tall oil fatty acids import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, shrinking by -3.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 31% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2020, and then reduced modestly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while the price for Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
