Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, metal flexible tubing exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +109.0% against 2012 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

South Korea (X tons), the United States (X tons) and Japan (X tons) were the main destinations of metal flexible tubing exports from Vietnam, together accounting for 75% of total exports. India, Australia, South Africa and Canada lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 13%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Canada (with a CAGR of +4.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.

In value terms, South Korea ($X), the United States ($X) and Japan ($X) constituted the largest markets for metal flexible tubing exported from Vietnam worldwide, with a combined 79% share of total exports. These countries were followed by India, Australia, Canada and South Africa, which together accounted for a further 13%.

Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Canada ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+16.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, metal flexible tubing imports into Vietnam surged to X tons, increasing by 116% on 2020. In general, imports recorded a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 248% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, metal flexible tubing imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate buoyant growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Malaysia (X tons), China (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) were the main suppliers of metal flexible tubing imports to Vietnam, with a combined 62% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Malaysia (with a CAGR of +64.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest metal flexible tubing suppliers to Vietnam were Malaysia ($X), China ($X) and South Korea ($X), together comprising 62% of total imports.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the countries with the highest prices were Malaysia ($X per ton) and Russia ($X per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton) and China ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
