The United Arab Emirates (X tons) was the main destination for fruit exports from Vietnam, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, fruit exports to the United Arab Emirates exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, China (X tons), more than tenfold.

As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, fruit imports rose significantly to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a measured increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest fruit supplier to Vietnam, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, fruit imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, New Zealand (X tons), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by the United States (X tons), with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China stood at X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: New Zealand (X% per year) and the United States (X% per year).

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, fruit import price decreased by X% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average import price increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Australia ($X per ton) and South Korea ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) and New Zealand ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (X%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
