In 2021, the Vietnamese boiler parts market was finally on the rise to reach $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, consumption, however, saw a pronounced setback. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. In 2021, boiler parts imports into Vietnam fell significantly to X tons, waning by -86.6% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports saw a sharp descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 350% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, boiler parts imports reduced markedly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a dramatic setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 337%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Germany (X kg), Taiwan (Chinese) (X kg) and Sweden (X kg) were the main suppliers of boiler parts imports to Vietnam, together accounting for 97% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Sweden (with a CAGR of +19.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Taiwan (Chinese) ($X) and Sweden ($X) appeared to be the largest boiler parts suppliers to Vietnam, with a combined 97% share of total imports.

Over the period under review, import price indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +9.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, boiler parts import price increased by +12.5% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 53%. Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the highest price was recorded for prices from Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton) and Austria ($X per ton), while the price for Germany ($X per ton) and Sweden ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+14.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
