Radio Receiver Market Size in Vietnam

The Vietnamese radio receiver market fell slightly to $X in 2022, dropping by -3.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

Radio receiver exports from Vietnam expanded to X units in 2022, increasing by 4.5% compared with the previous year. Overall, exports posted a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 256% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, radio receiver exports dropped to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 279%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

The United States (X units) was the main destination for radio receiver exports from Vietnam, accounting for a 34% share of total exports. Moreover, radio receiver exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X units), twofold. China (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States stood at +20.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+35.6% per year) and China (+49.3% per year).

In value terms, the largest markets for radio receiver exported from Vietnam were the United States ($X), Germany ($X) and China ($X), together accounting for 57% of total exports.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Germany, with a CAGR of +74.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average radio receiver export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -11.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 52%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit, and then dropped in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Japan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, approx. X units of radio receivers were imported into Vietnam; with a decrease of -2% on 2021 figures. In general, imports showed a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 151% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, radio receiver imports reduced rapidly to $X in 2022. China (X units), Malaysia (X units) and the Philippines (X units) were the main suppliers of radio receiver imports to Vietnam, with a combined 65% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the Philippines (with a CAGR of +100.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X), Thailand ($X) and Malaysia ($X) constituted the largest radio receiver suppliers to Vietnam, with a combined 61% share of total imports. In 2022, the average radio receiver import price amounted to $X per unit, declining by -15% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 65% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for the Philippines ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hong Kong SAR (+30.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
