Aircraft Tyre Market Size in Vietnam

The Vietnamese aircraft tyre market declined significantly to $X in 2021, shrinking by -58.6% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 425%. The exports peaked at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, aircraft tyre exports fell dramatically to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, recorded prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 620%. The exports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Japan (X units), Hong Kong SAR (X units) and Cambodia (X units) were the main destinations of aircraft tyre exports from Vietnam, together accounting for 50% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Hong Kong SAR (with a CAGR of +34.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 40% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+75.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Vietnam

Aircraft tyre imports into Vietnam reduced dramatically to X units in 2021, with a decrease of -59.4% on the previous year's figure. In general, imports showed a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 160%. Imports peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, aircraft tyre imports declined rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when imports increased by 161% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Thailand (X units) constituted the largest supplier of aircraft tyre to Vietnam, accounting for a 44% share of total imports. Moreover, aircraft tyre imports from Thailand exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X units), threefold. Japan (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 14% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Thailand stood at +28.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (-6.8% per year) and Japan (-20.3% per year).

In value terms, Thailand ($X) constituted the largest supplier of tyres for aircraft to Vietnam, comprising 42% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Japan, with a 14% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Thailand totaled +31.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (-7.1% per year) and Japan (-18.6% per year).

In 2021, the average aircraft tyre import price amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 2.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a mild increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 12%. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
