In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported acoustic grand pianos in Western Africa, comprising 85% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Cote d'Ivoire ($X), with a 7.4% share of total imports. It was followed by Senegal, with a 3.8% share.

In Nigeria, grand piano imports expanded at an average annual rate of +15.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Cote d'Ivoire (+15.0% per year) and Senegal (+7.3% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Western Africa stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 36% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the import price increased by 61% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
