Burkina Faso (X tons) and Ghana (X tons) were the major exporters of antisera and other blood fractions in 2021, resulting at near 30% and 27% of total exports, respectively. Senegal (X kg) took a 15% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Liberia (14%), Nigeria (6.5%) and Togo (5.5%).

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Burkina Faso (with a CAGR of +112.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Senegal ($X) emerged as the largest antisera supplier in Western Africa, comprising 82% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Liberia ($X), with a 6.8% share of total exports. It was followed by Togo, with a 3.6% share.

It was distantly followed by Guinea (X tons), constituting a 6% share of total imports. Sierra Leone (X tons), Liberia (X tons), Gambia (X tons), Mauritania (X tons), Benin (X tons) and Nigeria (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
