In Benin, agglomerated powder rod exports expanded at an average annual rate of +111.3% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Senegal (+11.5% per year) and Togo (-7.0% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Western Africa amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 654% against the previous year. Overall, the export price enjoyed a remarkable increase. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In general, imports recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 356%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, agglomerated powder rod imports shrank sharply to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 62%.
