The export price in Western Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 1.5% against the previous year. Export price indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In value terms, imports of bed linen of other woven textiles and non-woven man-made fibres skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a measured expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 53%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Senegal prevails in fibres structure, amounting to X tons, which was near 88% of total imports in 2022. Cote d'Ivoire (X tons), Mali (X tons), Ghana (X tons) and Nigeria (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Import Prices by Country
The import price in Western Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -68.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price faced a abrupt slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
