Cote d'Ivoire (+14 p.p.) and Mali (+2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Sierra Leone, Ghana and Nigeria saw its share reduced by -1.8%, -3.6% and -4.2% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, Nigeria ($X), Ghana ($X) and Cote d'Ivoire ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 78% share of total exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Cote d'Ivoire, with a CAGR of +24.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Western Africa stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the export price increased by 71%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
