The third position in this ranking was taken by Guinea-Bissau (X tons), with a 16% share.
In Guinea, cauliflower and broccoli production expanded at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Burkina Faso (+2.3% per year) and Guinea-Bissau (+1.8% per year).
The average cauliflower and broccoli yield declined slightly to X tons per ha in 2022, dropping by -4.8% against the year before. Overall, the yield, however, continues to indicate strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the yield increased by 128%. As a result, the yield attained the peak level of X tons per ha. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the cauliflower and broccoli yield failed to regain momentum. Despite the increased use of modern agricultural techniques and methods, future yield figures may still be impacted by adverse weather conditions.
In 2022, the total area harvested in terms of cauliflower and broccoli production in Western Africa amounted to X ha, remaining constant against the previous year's figure. Overall, the harvested area continues to indicate a abrupt setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 25% against the previous year. The level of harvested area peaked at X ha in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the harvested area remained at a lower figure.

Exports in Western Africa
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of cauliflower and broccoli, when their volume decreased by -30% to X tons. Overall, exports, however, saw significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 980%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, cauliflower and broccoli exports fell to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 799%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Burkina Faso prevails in exports structure, recording X tons, which was approx. 93% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Nigeria (X tons), achieving a 6.6% share of total exports.
Burkina Faso was also the fastest-growing in terms of the cauliflower and broccoli exports, with a CAGR of +75.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Nigeria (+45.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Burkina Faso and Nigeria increased by +88 and +4.7 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Burkina Faso ($X) and Nigeria ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022.

In 2022, the export price in Western Africa amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 25% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a abrupt slump. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Nigeria ($X per ton), while Burkina Faso stood at $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Nigeria (+24.9%).

Imports in Western Africa
In 2022, the amount of cauliflower and broccoli imported in Western Africa skyrocketed to X tons, growing by 31% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 90% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, cauliflower and broccoli imports expanded remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, imports enjoyed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 105% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Mauritania (X tons) represented the major importer of cauliflower and broccoli, constituting 60% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) and Cabo Verde (X tons), together comprising a 22% share of total imports. Nigeria (X tons), Ghana (X tons), Liberia (X tons) and Mali (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Mauritania was also the fastest-growing in terms of the cauliflower and broccoli imports, with a CAGR of +64.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Cote d'Ivoire (+32.3%), Mali (+27.6%), Liberia (+20.6%), Nigeria (+19.1%) and Cabo Verde (+4.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Ghana (-2.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Mauritania and Cote d'Ivoire increased by +57 and +9.2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mauritania ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported cauliflower and broccoli in Western Africa, comprising 41% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Cabo Verde ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Cote d'Ivoire, with a 12% share.
In Mauritania, cauliflower and broccoli imports increased at an average annual rate of +51.1% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Cabo Verde (+6.9% per year) and Cote d'Ivoire (+14.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Western Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -16% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 13%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ghana ($X per ton), while Mauritania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
