Ghana (X units) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Mali (X units), Mauritania (X units) and Nigeria (X units). All these countries together took approx. 33% share of total exports. In value terms, Sierra Leone ($X) remains the largest centrifugal clothes-dryer supplier in Western Africa, comprising 67% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Cote d'Ivoire ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by Ghana, with a 9.9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Sierra Leone stood at +26.3%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Cote d'Ivoire (+58.2% per year) and Ghana (+1.0% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Western Africa amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -11.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, posted strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by 194% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cote d'Ivoire ($X per unit), while Mauritania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

For the fifth consecutive year, Western Africa recorded growth in supplies from abroad of centrifugal clothes-dryers, which increased by 5.5% to X units in 2021. Overall, imports saw a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 843% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
