The following exporters - Mali (X tons) and Senegal (X tons) - each finished at an 8.1% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Cote d'Ivoire (with a CAGR of +6.4%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
In value terms, the largest flaked or rolled cereal supplying countries in Western Africa were Cote d'Ivoire ($X), Niger ($X) and Burkina Faso ($X), with a combined 64% share of total exports.
Cote d'Ivoire, with a CAGR of +11.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 161%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Burkina Faso ($X per ton), while Mali ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in Western Africa
In 2022, the amount of flaked or rolled cereals imported in Western Africa fell dramatically to X tons, with a decrease of -66.2% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 754% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, flaked or rolled cereal imports reduced remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 267%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Ghana (X tons) and Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) represented the major importers of flaked or rolled cereals in 2022, resulting at near 34% and 29% of total imports, respectively. Nigeria (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, distantly followed by Liberia (X tons). All these countries together held near 24% share of total imports. The following importers - Cabo Verde (X tons), Burkina Faso (X tons) and Mauritania (X tons) - together made up 8.5% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Burkina Faso (with a CAGR of +33.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Ghana ($X), Cote d'Ivoire ($X) and Nigeria ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 83% of total imports. Liberia, Cabo Verde, Burkina Faso and Mauritania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 10%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Burkina Faso, with a CAGR of +32.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Western Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, waning by -5.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a slight increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the import price increased by 75% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ghana ($X per ton), while Burkina Faso ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
