The export price in Western Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, jumping by 18% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Togo ($X per ton), while Nigeria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The import price in Western Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 11% against the previous year. Import price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, chain scoops and sliders import price increased by +66.9% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the import price increased by 42%.
