In general, exports, however, saw a abrupt decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 148%. Burkina Faso (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to non-refractory clay roofing tiles exports from Nigeria stood at +17.4%. Export Prices by Country

The export price in Western Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -3.6% against the previous year. Export price indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, non-refractory clay roofing tiles export price decreased by -16.1% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 35%. After three years of growth, overseas purchases of non-refractory clay roofing tiles decreased by -14.8% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 94% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, non-refractory clay roofing tiles imports fell to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 101% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Guinea-Bissau (X tons), distantly followed by Nigeria (X tons), Cabo Verde (X tons), Mali (X tons), Senegal (X tons), Togo (X tons) and Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) represented the key importers of non-refractory clay roofing tiles, together generating 90% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Cote d'Ivoire (with a CAGR of +17.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported non-refractory clay roofing tiles in Western Africa, comprising 38% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Guinea-Bissau ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Cabo Verde, with an 8.2% share.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Nigeria ($X per ton), while Togo ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
