In 2020, the export price in Western Africa amounted to $X per unit, rising by 239% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price posted a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the export price increased by 172,589% against the previous year. In 2021, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of dry-cleaning machines, when their volume decreased by -54.7% to X units. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 154% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then shrank significantly in the following year.

In value terms, dry-cleaning machine imports dropped remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a pronounced increase. In 2021, Nigeria (X units) was the main importer of dry-cleaning machines, achieving 75% of total imports. Gambia (X units) held a 10% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Senegal (4.7%). The following importers - Mali (X units), Mauritania (X units) and Burkina Faso (X units) - together made up 7.8% of total imports.

In value terms, Nigeria ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported dry-cleaning machines in Western Africa, comprising 95% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Senegal ($X), with a 2.1% share of total imports. It was followed by Mauritania, with a 1.7% share.

In Nigeria, dry-cleaning machine imports expanded at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Senegal (+41.7% per year) and Mauritania (+64.2% per year).

In 2021, the import price in Western Africa amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -49.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 227% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Nigeria ($X per unit), while Gambia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Senegal (+16.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
