In 2021, the amount of electro-thermic appliances or domestic purposes exported in Western Africa stood at X units, picking up by 13% compared with the year before. In value terms, Cote d'Ivoire ($X) remains the largest electro-thermic appliances or domestic purposes supplier in Western Africa, comprising 33% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Ghana ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Benin, with a 10% share.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 77% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, electro-thermic appliances or domestic purposes imports reached $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Ghana (X units) and Nigeria (X units) dominates imports structure, together comprising 80% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Guinea (X units), creating a 6.9% share of total imports. Cote d'Ivoire (X units), Liberia (X units), Senegal (X units) and Sierra Leone (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Guinea (with a CAGR of +59.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest electro-thermic appliances or domestic purposes importing markets in Western Africa were Ghana ($X), Nigeria ($X) and Cote d'Ivoire ($X), with a combined 78% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Guinea, Senegal, Liberia and Sierra Leone, which together accounted for a further 15%.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Senegal ($X per unit), while Liberia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
