The shipments of the one major exporters of feldspar, namely Nigeria, represented more than two-thirds of total export.

In value terms, Nigeria ($X) also remains the largest feldspar supplier in Western Africa.

In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of feldspar, when their volume decreased by -10.3% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports showed a precipitous shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 104% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, feldspar imports expanded notably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 99%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Ghana (X tons) and Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) were the key importers of feldspar in 2021, reaching near 42% and 35% of total imports, respectively. It was distantly followed by Nigeria (X tons), constituting a 20% share of total imports. Guinea (X tons) held a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Cote d'Ivoire (with a CAGR of +79.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
In value terms, Ghana ($X), Cote d'Ivoire ($X) and Nigeria ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 98% of total imports.
In terms of the main importing countries, Cote d'Ivoire, with a CAGR of +58.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Western Africa amounted to $X per ton, surging by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 22%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Nigeria ($X per ton), while Guinea ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ghana (+11.7%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
