In value terms, flat glass exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports showed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 306%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, Nigeria ($X) remains the largest flat glass supplier in Western Africa, comprising 87% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Ghana ($X), with a 6.5% share of total exports.

In Nigeria, flat glass exports expanded at an average annual rate of +28.4% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Ghana (+28.2% per year) and Senegal (+8.9% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Western Africa amounted to $X per ton, declining by -32.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 28%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
